Christmas stress, recovery and gift certificates

The last few days I've been stressing out a bit about christmas gifts and such, but I got a bunch sent out today, so now all I can do is hope that they'll arrive in time for christmas eve.
Other than that, I've mainly been focusing on recovering from the flu/cold/throat infection thingie going on in my body. I've been pretty knackered, but I'm finally starting to feel well again!
Loads of tea with ginger and lemon is in it's place when I'm ill.

Also cute kitties.

Today Daniel and I have been doing some grocery shopping, and I've put up some gift certificate options in the Venus & The Moth shop!

Gift certificate worth 40 dollars

Gift certificate worth 20 dollars

There will be loads of new stuff coming up in the shop, probably right after the vacation, so expect to see new jewelry and loads of knitted goodies!

Loads of love,
Malin

Since last time I've been ill again, very, very tired, stressed, and had a lot on my mind!
I had a photo shoot with Mayors of Miyazaki on Saturday, and it turned out great! We had a great time, and it was a fun photo shoot. I'm working on the photos, I took a bunch of digital photos, some polaroids, and some with my awesome Hasselblad. I'll put some up once they're approved by the Mayors eventually!
They gave me two bottles of fine red wine for the job, so nice!

I've also been trying to work things out with school. I'll put up a longer post about this soon. It's very complicated stuff, ugh.

Other than this, I've been taking care of a sick little rat babe, done a tiny bit of christmas shopping the days I've been able to get out of the house, relaxed a bunch (as always), been really, really cold and done a whole bunch of knitting.

I'm going back to Norway tomorrow morning, to spend the christmas vacation with my wonderful husband, and my family. Excited!

Creativity whilst bedbound

I'm still very much bedbound, trying to fight off being ill with loads of rest and tea and vitamin c.

And I'm still restless, so I'm continuing keeping my hands busy with activities that don't wear me out. Like more knitting!

I also dug out some polaroids from a little while ago and decided to play around with editing them a bit. I'm pretty happy with the results.

More to come.

I feel pretty creatively inspired nowadays, and I'm aching to get outside and complete my project ideas. I have a lot of ideas that I really want to work on, so I'm hoping I'll be completely well very soon!

Coming Saturday I have a photo shoot with a friend of mine's band, Mayors of Miyazaki, and I'm pretty excited about that!

Loads of love,
Malin

Frost, crafts and bed

It's starting to get pretty cold here in London, with -2 celsius, and even frost on the ground!

Apparently this freezing weather combined with a trip to a hectic supermarket is too much for my body right now! So I'm back in bed in full relaxation mode, with a crappy throat, aching and an on-and-off fever. It seems like this cold/flu-like-ting/whatever isn't gonna let go of me just yet. Just gotta down a few more cups of tea a day with some raspberry flavoured vitamin c!

And a good breakfast with a nice cup of coffee is also important to both get me up, wake me up and warm me.

I must admit I don't hate staying inside our nice and warm house most of my time when it's cold and frosty outside, even though I hate the fact that I kind of have no choice right now.
I get so restless from it.
So, to cure my restlessness I started knitting (which is also kinda like therapy to me), and by now I have managed to knit through all the yarn I had in the house... One big ass scarf and two small ones.

So right now I don't really know what to do with my hands! I also started practicing my drawing somewhat, which is very much needed if I wanna become as good as I wish I was. Did a few dotty drawings the other day. I guess they didn't turn out too bad!

For now I'll just keep on taking care of my body and not stress too much.
I wanna get better ASAP so I can start getting stuff done!

Loads of love,
Malin

Metal works, glue and white paint

I've been browsing Etsy some more today. Gosh, there's so much amazing stuff there!

I've found some jewelry from bonesandthings that I think I'd like to wear for the wedding. If I can afford it!

Either this set:
Luna . Victorian Inspired Crescent Moon and Arrow Necklace

Pointed Arrows Brass and Copper Rivited Earrings

Or this:
Poppy Bulb Flower Copper Necklace

Petite Poppy Wire Wrapped Hoop Earrings

They're so pretty!

I've also made some crappy freehand painted patches today, and glued some stuff onto my cardigan. Hah!

Tonight I'm going to the farewell party for Rikke. She is moving to Hadeland on Sunday to go to school there for a year. Sad!
And I'm leaving Norway again on Wednesday, so I'm gonna pretend that the party is a tiny bit for me as well.
There will be wonderful company, snacks and houmous, so it'll be really nice.

I'll bring my king camera and I'll make sure to take some photos!

Best wishes,
Malin

Sleeping in, going to the beach and finishing jewelry

Yesterday I woke up at around 9am, which is very early for me during vacation time.
Normally, most likely because of my condition, I really need to take a nap during the day to be able to function at all. But yesterday I didn't! I had some coffee and I guess that kept me going.
I stayed up til around 2am making and fixing some jewelry!

I was meant to go to Stavern for a market to try to sell some jewelry, but unfortunately it was too rainy outside to be able to do that. So I stayed home, and started on some more jewelry instead.

Today I woke up at around 10.30am, but I was far too tired to be able to get out of bed by then.
I actually didn't get up till about 1pm, hah!
Then I got some coffee to wake me up, and some cereal with blueberries, banana and rice milk.
Eventually me and my sister decided to go to the beach to try out the water (for the first time this summer for me!) and get some sun by the refreshing ocean.
We stayed there for a couple of hours, went swimming and had loads of fun in the water. It was chilly at first, but once you get used to it it's quite nice.
And the beach here in Langesund is beautiful.

While laying there licking some sun, the lady next to us suddenly asked us if we had lived in Norway for long. My sister answered her and told her we were born and raised here in Langesund. The lady said "aaah, ok! I was just thinking how extremely good your Norwegian is!".
What she meant by that, I have absolutely no clue about. Maybe we look foreign?
I dunno!

Warm and sunny wishes,
Malin

And etc.

Oh, and other than becoming a bridezilla, looking at dresses, rings and places to host a wedding party in October, I've done the following things:

Delivered a load of stuff to the garage sale Annie and her dad had today.

Had a really nice evening with Rikke, Elise, Arja and her boyfriend, talking (fun) shit, laughing and entrusting in each other.

Discovered Cinemagram (thanks to my man). It's hilarious and creepy at the same time!

Played with InstaCRT. It's cool.

Bought tickets for Damnation for me and my coming hubby! Hells yeah!

And cuddled more with my cats.

Also, my mum bought a load of cheap craft stuff online that arrived today! Craft time!

Expect loads more jewelry soon.

Best wishes,
Malin

Granite clay

Also, I've been spending the last couple of days experimenting with some granite clay that my mum got her hands on.
It's a very rough clay, with a stoney look, and it air dries!

I had some ideas, and tried out a few different things.
I made some rune pendants as I figured that suited the texture really well.
I also made a few blank pendants, some "stone" pearls, and a couple of pendants with some of the polymer clay teeth I've made.

I'm very happy with the results, and these will be up in the shop very soon!

Best wishes,
Malin

Shop up!

Ok guys, the Venus & The Moth shop is up and running! Yay!

This is exciting for me, and I'm so stoked and motivated to do this and to do it good.

Go have a look yourselves!

There's only a few pieces of jewelry up at the moment, but there will be more, trust me!
Eventually I'll also put up buttons, zines, knitwear and vintage/thrift treasures for sale.

Stay tuned!

Loads of love and best wishes,
Malin
