Catnip

My mum bought the cats some new toys, a pair of new bowls and two bags of CATNIP the other day!
The cats are in heaven! They are constantly smelling it, licking it, spilling it and rolling around in it.

Here's Felix going crazy with a bowl of catnip:

So crazy, so cute.

Cats, cake and friends!

Yesterday we went to a foster home/shelter for a bunch of rescue cats to meet at least one cat we were thinking of adopting. We got there after driving to the wrong house (it was kinda in the middle of nowhere) a few times, but when we finally found the right place, it was really nice! The woman who foster the cats had a whole, little house dedicated just to the cats, so there were about 15 cats living in there. All of them were adorable, loads of them were super playful and a couple were super cuddly! So cute!

We talked a bit with the woman responsible for them and she said Isa, the cat we originally wanted to adopt, probably wasn't the best choice due to her behaviour around other, dominant cats.
But I completely fell in love with a tiny little black/tortoiseshell girl called Siri, she was absolutely beautiful, and cuddly and playful all at once! I held her through almost our entire visit there, and she was pretty much just hanging out in my arms or over my shoulder! Eeeep!

I filled out an application form for the adoption, and I'm looking forward to hearing back from Redd Dyra (Save the Animals). Maybe Felix will get a girlfriend?

After the cat visit, Daniel and I went to Michelle and Sondre's place for Michelle's birthday.
It was really, really nice, we chatted a bunch about everything and nothing, and it was so nice spending time with Michelle, Sondre, Arja, Malene, Bjørnar, Christine and Anniken again, all together!

We also met this little cutie, who is in fosterhome at Sondre and Michelle's, and we're considering adopting her if we don't get Siri! She was so, so pretty!

My mum stayed up late baking last night, and today we got to taste the vegan christmas fruit n' spice cake she made for us, it is YUMMY!

We also had to take a trip to the mall to get some last minute gifts and some important groceries for our christmas food.
Meanwhile, the snow was (and still is) pouring down outside.

Loads of love,

Errands and dearest Sussi

The last few days have been quiet, but somewhat busy.
I've done a bunch of errands, including buying a second hand wardrobe, chest of drawers, ottoman and a shelf rack. All for £55 including delivery! Hells yeah!
I also stopped by the huge Asian supermarket nearby and got loads of groceries, went to Camden to get some new body jewelry, look for a dress and get some vegan goodies. I also went to London Tattoo do to some training with Kendra for when I'm filling in for her as a receptionist this week!
I start working there tomorrow and I'm filling in for her till the start of next week.

I've also been pretty sad the last couple of days. My dear cat Sussi died Saturday night, 16 years old. She had been really ill for while, she had problems with her metabolism and that lead to heart problems. It seemed like she had difficulties breathing towards the end, but she still wanted to cuddle and still loved to eat. Luckily she had a peaceful death and wasn't in any pain.

I still remember the day we got her, even though I was only 6 years old.
We got her from a rescue shelter and she was on my lap the entire trip home.
I love her and miss her loads.

Simpel misses her loads too. She was lying on her grave after my mum and my sister buried her. So sad and so cute at the same time.

But I've spent loads of time with my rat babies, they've been cheering me up.

I've also been drooling over small, adorable puppies online. Haha, oh well!

Love,
Malin

Porsgrunn, sub, bug and kitties

I've been relaxing most of the time the last few days.

On Monday I had a coffee date with Rikke, and it was really nice.
We also went to the mall to get my ring size measured, and to get a bite to eat. We ended up getting a veggie delight subway each, as it was the sub of the day and extra cheap. Yay! It was so tasty.

We also walked through Porsgrunn city to meet up with Elise, her boyfriend and her sister for a little bit before I headed home!

It was a really nice and sunny day, and so warm!

Yesterday I apparently got some type of bug in my body, I think I had a mild case of food poisoning.
It was so weird, I had toast with avocado (with garlic salt and pepper, yummm), and pretty much straight after I ate it I got an allergic reaction on a small part of my lip and in my throat. Itchy and a bit of swelling. An hour later I got extremely nauseous and that lasted for a couple of hours, followed by a fever and body aching.

Today I felt better, but I still feel achy and that is a pain in the ass.
Luckily I have loads of kitties to cheer me up!

Loads of love,
Malin

My Norwegian cats

A little appreciation post about the cats I've grown up with, that all live in my mama's house. I love them all to bits, they are all so so different.

Here's some facts about them.

Sussi

Sussi is the oldest lady in the house. She is the grumpy happy old lady, with the darkest meows and the weirdest food habits. She will eat pretty much anything we're eating. Some of her favorites are cheese doodles, pancakes and waffles.
She used to be super chubby, but she's lost quite a lot of weight the last few years. Which I guess is logical, seeing as she is a very tiny cat. And she is actually 17 years old!
I got her when I was 5 years old, my grandma helped me get her after she was advertised in the newspaper because she had been there for so long, which was rare for such a young cat.
I still remember the day we brought her home.

Felix

Felix is about 11 years old, and he is a very strange cat. All the other cats dislike him, especially Simpel, so he prefers to be outside or upstairs in my old bedroom. The other cats prefer lying in my mums bed, or downstairs.
He disappeared for a good, good while a few years back, but then he came back to us and we gave him a warm welcome. The other cats, on the other hand, did not.
He used to be convinced he was my boyfriend when I lived back home. He used to meow out for me if he was upstairs and I was downstairs, and wouldn't stop till I came up to my room. There he wanted me to go to bed so he could crawl in under the covers with me and lie next to me while we were sleeping! I think he still thinks I'm his sometimes when I'm home. When he lies next to me in bed and I pet him, he fetches a hold of my hand with his claws if I try to put my hand away, so I often end up with falling asleep with my arm around him.
He's a super cutie, and a big guy.

Simpel Dot

Simpel is the neurotic, talking lady in the house. She is quite strange, and loves to talk to us. She also seems quite nervous most of the time - except from when she's sleeping or getting good cuddles.
She likes to attack Felix if he comes to close, but she is very affectionate towards us and the other cats. She likes to cuddle with and wash up Sussi, and she loves to sit on my mums lap - especially if she is using her laptop.
She is 7 years old.
Her most used word is "mrrrrrrrrrrrrrrro".

Tarzan

Tarzan is super clumsy and weird. He is 6 years old and Simpel's son.
He is also a big guy, and loves to lie on his back with all his paws up in the air, especially in the bathroom where we have a heated floor. He also loves drinking from the sink, and he does not mind getting wet at all.
When he cuddles, he's typically too occupied with the cuddling itself to even consider where he shall put his body. This often ends in him lying down on edges and falling down. This happens quite a lot.
And he has the most high pitched meows ever!

They are all my little darlings.

Best wishes,
Malin
