Sunny walks, errands and tiredness

I finally felt a bit better yesterday, and worked my evening shift while Daniel ran errands as he had the day off.
We both slept in big time today, as we both had the day off, and we both needed some good rest.

Today I've been running errands, I cycled in to the main shopping center of Copenhagen for the first time, and oh man, it was so much faster than taking the bus, even! It would've gone even faster if I hadn't gotten a bit lost at one point, and if I wouldn't feel like such a newbie in Danish bike traffic. But I'm sure I'll get the hang of it very soon.

We went for a nice walk in the middle of the day, in the sun (and wind), and enjoyed the atmosphere in our neighborhood and the little things here and there.

We also did a massive grocery shopping haul, and carried a big load home, which made us both pretty exhausted. And a nice, tasty curry for dinner left us both in some sort of coma, hah.

I have another evening shift coming up tomorrow. And as I've learned so far, those shifts don't leave me with much time to do anything else than get up, wake up, have some nice breakfast and a cup of coffee, get ready for work and take my time doing that and getting to work, and then have some dinner and almost pass out on the couch when I get home, haha.

But first it's time for some good rest!

Warmth and bike

The weather has been really nice the last few days, almost a bit too nice (did I really just say that?) with loads of sun and high temperatures. Of course it's also super windy here and there, we are in Denmark after all. Which is a disadvantage when I wear flowy dresses that fly up once the wind hits me..
The parks are filled with people and dogs who are sun bathing, having a picnic, playing or just relaxing, and almost everyone have their windows open throughout the day. Which is fascinating to look at when you enter a street that is literally all apartments from the 1st floor and up, which our street is:

And there's loads of pretty plants and just life everywhere.

And OH! I got myself a bike! Finally!
My very sweet and caring and generous grandma decided she wanted to buy me a bike, as it is incredibly handy in Copenhagen, so after work, Daniel and I found a bike shop that had a small selection of second hand bikes and found one that fitted me and my use pretty well.
I of course had to pose with it. And of course have Atlas pose as well.

Yay!
I can't wait to start cycling again, it's been forever. And Copenhagen is an incredibly bike-friendly city, with separate bike lanes in big parts of it. It'll be so much quicker getting around town!
Thank you grandma!

A little charm in Jægersborggade

The street we live on is a very charming little street, filled with culture, people, happenings, and food. There's always someone outside, most of the time completely minding their own business, talking, eating some food or enjoying a nice cold or hot beverage of some kind.
There's also a small illustration gallery called CMYK, filled with awesome, quirky illustrations from a bunch of different illustrators.
Today they had a little concert outside!

I found myself sitting in the window enjoying the music for a little while.
If the window hadn't been so darn uncomfortable I probably would've enjoyed it a lot longer.

Copenhagen is a charming city.

Family, food and shopping

We've had a great day today, filled with family time, great food, shopping and some errands.
We met up with my grandma, her husband and my cousins again this afternoon, in the center of Copenhagen. We did some shopping, some walking around, and a little bit of relaxing before we headed out to dinner.
The girls were in the Guinness World Records museum when we arrived, so Daniel decided to pose with the world's tallest man while we were waiting for them to get back out.

We went to a place called Riz Raz, that my cousin Jenny found online, which has a great vegetarian/vegan buffet.
We talked and stuffed our faces with delicious food, and we were all pretty darn full by the end of it, before saying goodbye for now and going our separate ways.
It's been really nice seeing them all again and getting to spend some time with them!
My grandma is incredibly sweet, caring and generous, and she gave me this beautiful necklace that she bought when she was in need of some jewelry, and thought of me as she figured she wouldn't really wear it again. And treated me to some bits at H&M. So sweet!

She always helps us out, which we are incredibly grateful for. She's always there for me and makes me feel like a grandchild should!

Tivoli and family

My grandma, her husband and my two cousins arrived in Copenhagen this morning!
We met them at Tivoli, which we've never been too before, and walked around, talked, looked around, and had some coffee.

The girls (my cousins) took a bunch of rides, while the rest of us took it easy and spent some time catching up.

Tivoli is awesome. A bunch of great rides, fun stuff to do and to look at.

Daniel and my cousin Jenny decided to take this ride together, and apparently got an awesome view of Copenhagen while hanging up there waiting for the fall.

It was really nice seeing them all again! Tomorrow we're going to spend some time together while exploring the center of Copenhagen, hopefully.

Full moon and calm streets

Look what view greeted us this evening.

The moon was full and shining bright!
It looked like a pearl on a string together with the hanging streetlights in our neighbor street.

It even peeked out in our street eventually.

While the atmosphere in the streets were calm and slightly summery, with people cycling around and minding their own business.

I love seeing lights on in apartment after apartment.

Sun and city garden walk

Another warm, sunny day!

We took an extra long walk, through some parks.

And enjoyed the view of the beautiful community/city garden in the street next to ours.

Witnessed a beautiful, big dog, just chilling.

And this guy kinda looked like George Michael from the '80s for the day, with a bandana collar and a "crop top".
(It was too warm for a full cover t-shirt, and his harness irritates his underarms...)

We went back home for some sun lollies.

And we opened up the windows to let the fresh, warm air and some sunshine in.

Then we chillaxed a little bit, before dinner and a some more Orange Is The New Black!

I've written a longer post today, that I've saved for later, about a much discussed subject within the vegan lifestyle.
It's about something I've thought a lot about, something that I want people to think more about before "judging" vegans for, and that is important to me. I'm still not 100% sure I want to post it, but I probably will within the next few days. I'll see!

Anyways, it's time for bed soon, for me at least, 'cause I have to get back on track for work-hours!

Dog area and pretty, green stuff

Today it was back to work, to loads of learning and a pretty slow day. It is Monday, after all!
Now that I've started a kind of "9 to 5" job, I'm guessing the weekends are going to become more precious, and Mondays a lot harder. Although I'm not sure what type of shifts I'll be working this summer yet.

After a lot of yawning and a few cups of coffee through insurance policy learning, I was off and headed home to my boys. I had a quick bite, and eventually we all headed to the little enclosed dog-area that we discovered a little while ago, that is only a block away from us.
Atlas got to run around and sniff and pee on everything, and said hi to a few other dogs.

On our way back I took a few photos of some pretty, green things.
Summer is fully on its way!

After that it was time for dinner: some incredibly tasty curry with tikka masala spices and loads of veggies. Unfortunately I don't have a photo, as I was too hungry to think of taking one, and by the time I had started eating all I could think of was how tasty the curry was. Hah!

Loads of love,
Malin
