The last night with the best friends for now

Sunday evening was the last night we had with Michelle and Sondre for now, and we spent it in our traditional couple-night style: with good food, games, snacks, sillyness and talking about anything and everything.

It was so good seeing them again, we miss them so much when we're not around each other. Not only Daniel and myself, but Atlas too!

We miss them already!

Loads of love,
Malin

Flowers, dinner, dog park

I spent half of yesterday working, while Daniel, Michelle and Sondre slept in before going out and about in the streets of Copenhagen.
They had done a little bit of shopping, and when they got back a bit after me, they brought delicious produce and some beautiful flowers that Michelle picked out, amongst others.

They're accompanying the botanical garden jars, some dried branch flowers and a tiny new vase that Daniel got, on our pretty little hutch.

I took an after work nap while Daniel prepared dinner, and we all ate ourselves very full on absoutely delicious taco. Nom!

After that we played some carcassonne, some nutz, and some hearts. All in all a very good evening in extremely good company!

Today we've all been relaxing and taking it easy. We dedicated some time to Atlas and took him to the dog park so he hopefully could meet some friends to run around with. There wasn't too much running since there weren't too many dogs there, and Atlas is kind of boring, but he did get some energy out.

Tonight I'm making dinner, and we'll probably (definitely) be playing some more games together. Yay!
I love having Michelle and Sondre around, I miss them so much when they're far away, so it's really really good to have them here.

Loads of love,
Malin

Friends and food

We have visitors!
Our amazing friends Michelle and Sondre are visiting from Norway, they arrived yesterday morning and are staying till Monday afternoon. It's really awesome seeing them again.

So far we've been eating good food at Astrid och Aporna Spiseri and Manfreds Mat og Vin, walked around Frederiksberg a little bit, talked loads, cuddled with Atlas and played "Who am I?" (where we come up with characters/celebrities/other similar things for each other, we put a note on our forehead and guess who we are).

My lunch at Astrid och Aporna: grilled löbster wrap, french fries and side salads.

Daniel's weird ass lunch burger.

Michelle's burger lunch.

Grilled löbster wrap.

Michelle, rose and a bottle of elderflower juice.

Atlas getting ready for dinner at Manfreds!

Our awesome vegan dinner at Manfreds.

Sondre's glass of wine and sparkling water in a bottle.

Very empty plate.

Michelle and Sondre's part of the table.

Delicious dessert: redcurrants and blueberries with cocoa nibs, and coffee.

Today it's been pouring down, and Daniel is working, but we're planning a visit to Torvehallerne at least!

Loads of love,
Malin

Norway day weekend

The 17th of May is Norway's national day/constitution day, and in Norway that means that all over the country, there's one big celebration! The school's march in the morning, with marching bands, flags and our traditional outfits, and in the afternoon, clubs, organizations and similar stuff march as well.
Tons and tons of people are out, looking at the marches, and eating ice cream and hot dogs.
But we had a pretty calm and relaxed day here in Copenhagen, without much fuzz.
I know there are a lot of Norwegians celebrating here too, throwing together dinners and parties and happenings, but we took it easy.
We had our friend Thea over that whole weekend, and focused on enjoying ourselves and taking it easy instead. We ate some pretty tasty food and talked and relaxed.

On the 17th of May we decided to go get some vegan junk food at the little take away place called Astrid och Aporna Spiseri that just opened down our street, and we enjoyed it on the grass, the bright sunlight in the park. Which was super nice!

Atlas sporting a "Norwegian" sweater, with a typical Norwegian pattern and the colors of the flag!

And later in the afternoon we had some real tasty ice cream from a tiny little ice cream shop right around the corner from the park. Nom!

The rest of the weekend we just hung out, did a little shopping, and enjoyed each others company.

Thea spotted a tree with eyes!
Looking forward to more visits!

Malin

Weekend break

So I came home late Tuesday evening last week, and we got visitors on Wednesday!
'Cause it was time for Heavy Days in Doomtown.
I was mildly put exhausted, but made sure to relax as much as possible.
It was a great weekend, we had two good friends over, had loads of fun and enjoyed some awesome music.

For now I'll leave you with this, as both Daniel and I aren't feeling too great, and with Atlas having an upset stomach on top of that I really need some proper chill-out time and some proper sleep.
Hopefully we'll have a night undisturbed by dog poop and a happy and rested puppy in the morning too.

Loads of love,
Malin

Games and laughs

Today we've been sleeping in and taking long with pretty much everything.
Had some coffee, some nice breakfast and did some travel-preparing while Daniel took Atlas for a nice, long walk. Then we headed over to Sondre and Michelle's hotel room to play some games!
We did a couple round of Nuts, and a couple rounds of Carcassonne.
Ate some snacks, chatted and had loads of laughs. Just like we used to when we lived in Norway, at least once a week. So, so nice!

I think we were all pretty worn out today, so we decided to part when it was time for dinner and we were all hungry. Daniel and I went home and had some leftover lasagna while wounding down with a few episodes of New Girl, before I started preparing for travelling to Norway again.

And now it's time for bed, gotta get up early to catch my flight!
It's gonna be really nice to see my mom, little sister, cats and friends again. But I must admit I'm really gonna miss Daniel and Atlas while I'm gone, even if it's just for a week. I'm not used to being away from them at all.

Loads of love,
Malin

Awesome Sunday

We slept in today, both pretty exhausted after an awesome day yesterday, and rested for a new awesome day today!
We had some breakfast, got ready, got Sondre and Michelle over and eventually headed out to take the bus to Valby Park. We packed a picnic: some sandwiches, pastries, berries and snacks.
We found a nice spot in the big open field we were sitting at with Atlas last time we were there, laid down some blankets, got situated, put on some music and had an excellent day!
Atlas got to run around and play, the sun was shining (the wind was annoying, though), there were people grilling and playing soccer around us, even a horse passed by. So, so nice!

We sat there for hours, until we got both chilly and tired and decided to head back.
I was so exhausted, which I really felt when I sat down on the couch, so I had to take a nap. I was planning on taking a little one, but didn't wake up until a few hours later, when it was time for a very late dinner.
But it was so tasty!

I need a real good night's rest again today, I wonder how I'll manage Tuesday morning when I have to take the plane to Norway at 9.20 in the morning! Hopefully I'll be able to fall asleep real early tomorrow evening, after a day filled with games, laughs and chats.

Loads of love,
Malin

An awesome birthday

I woke up with Atlas next to me, with Daniel being gone, and to a text that said he'd be back in a few hours as he was fixing something with my birthday present.
So I relaxed in bed, fell asleep for a little while longer, and eventually decided to start getting ready and making some breakfast. Daniel got home with a bag with a present in it, and took Atlas for a walk.
But when he returned, he returned with my real present... Which was our two awesome friends Sondre and Michelle! I was so surprised! Those sneaky little awesome bastards all planned this behind my back without me knowing a single thing.
It was so good seeing them again, I even cried a little bit.
So we all hugged and laughed and talked about my face when I opened the door to see them there, and made some plans for the day.
And man, what a great day it's been... The sun was shining, the temperature was nice (at least in the areas where it wasn't too windy), I went birthday shopping, and we went to a grassy spot by the lakes and had some tasty berries and snacks together. And made friends with an adorable duck couple.

Daniel was meant to make us a super tasty lasagna feast, but as he was super tired after a lot of walking and very little sleep, we went out to eat instead. We went to Kate's Joint not too far from us, and we enjoyed some delicious Asian fusion food. Yummy!

After that, we relaxed a bit and laughed some more in Sondre and Michelle's hotel room, before we went home. We even saw a little sideshow on the way home!

I'm officially in love with Copenhagen.

Now it's time for bed, as we're all super tired, and we have another great day planned tomorrow: heading to the park for a picnic, letting Atlas run around and go crazy, and have that lasagna feast that Daniel's been planning. Awesome birthday weekend!

Loads of love,
Malin
