Sweets

Today we treated ourselves to some sweets.

A piece of apple cake, and raspberry cake. And some chocolate: white chocolate with cherries, and rice milk chocolate with almonds.

Yummy!

We also went to the dog park and played for a while. And of course cuddled.

City centre trip and artichokes

Monday afternoon, after Sondre and Michelle took their cab to take their ferry back, we decided to go to the city centre of Copenhagen to do some errands (but mainly go to the market and get some artichokes). We decided to try something new (to me, at least) with our dinner, something Daniel really likes: steamed artichokes with a garlic margarine dipping sauce.
We walked around for a bit, did a few other errands, got some caffeine in our bodies and saw some cool stuff.

We also got some delicious garlic infused olive oil at the market/Torvehallerne.

On the way back we walked through Assistentens cemetery, which was in full bloom! We haven't walked through for a while, so we were astonished when we came in. So pretty.

Daniel prepared the artichokes and the dipping sauce, and I heated up some leftover risotto from the night before.

It was so darn delicious.

Friends and food

We have visitors!
Our amazing friends Michelle and Sondre are visiting from Norway, they arrived yesterday morning and are staying till Monday afternoon. It's really awesome seeing them again.

So far we've been eating good food at Astrid och Aporna Spiseri and Manfreds Mat og Vin, walked around Frederiksberg a little bit, talked loads, cuddled with Atlas and played "Who am I?" (where we come up with characters/celebrities/other similar things for each other, we put a note on our forehead and guess who we are).

My lunch at Astrid och Aporna: grilled löbster wrap, french fries and side salads.

Daniel's weird ass lunch burger.

Michelle's burger lunch.

Grilled löbster wrap.

Michelle, rose and a bottle of elderflower juice.

Atlas getting ready for dinner at Manfreds!

Our awesome vegan dinner at Manfreds.

Sondre's glass of wine and sparkling water in a bottle.

Very empty plate.

Michelle and Sondre's part of the table.

Delicious dessert: redcurrants and blueberries with cocoa nibs, and coffee.

Today it's been pouring down, and Daniel is working, but we're planning a visit to Torvehallerne at least!

Malin

Dog filled afternoon, pizza and movie filled evening

After a long day at work, I spent several hours of my afternoon in the sun in the dog park with Daniel and Atlas. We hung out, took some photos, played a bit and relaxed.

Eventually we were accompanied by two teeny weeny and super cute dogs and their very nice owner.

And after that, it all became one big small dog party!

Eventually all the tiny dogs left, and a podengo on vacation from Holland entered. She and Atlas went absolutely crazy!

After this eventful afternoon filled with dog cuddles and playing, we went home and were completely exhausted, all three of us. Daniel and I decided to treat ourselves to some pizza, which we haven't had since Daniel's birthday, and a nice movie: Grand Budapest Hotel.

The pizza was pretty delicious, and the movie was awesome.

Boredom and Daniel's new job

Last night I pretty much fell into bed, and fell asleep with all my clothes and my make up on.
And today I slept in big time!

Today's been very uneventful and a tad bit boring, Daniel's been working, while I've relaxed, watched Parks and Recreation, taken Atlas on a few walks and done some stuff around the apartment.

Oh, and I guess I haven't really properly announced/explained that Daniel actually has a job now?!
He got the job he tried out for, which is literally across the street from us.
It's at a vegan fast food eatery called Astrid och Aporna spiseri, which makes absolutely delicious burgers, hot dogs and a fooled pork wrap, accompanied by yummy relishes and a selection of tasty beverages. He mostly cooks, but also serves and is behind the counter. Yay!

He made me a super tasty fooled pork wrap today (which I also had the other day, made with jackfruit, chipotle mayo and spinach).

And the rest of the day I spent doing the above mentioned things, being a little bit bored.

On a different note, about something I've been thinking about lately:
I kind of want to make this blog into a little more than what it is today.
I want to start writing more about things that I care about, perhaps feature more of my arts and crafts, and share recipes, and all kinds of similar stuff.
So I'm gonna start working on some ideas, and hopefully I'll get some more life into this - soon!

Malin

The last few days (in food)

So, as I mentioned, I had a massive migraine attack last Friday that shook me up pretty bad.
Had a real cotton brain for several days after, where I just didn't function properly.
But I'm back to my old self now!

I had my first real, non-trainee (and evening) shift at work on Tuesday, which stressed me out, but was good. I was kinda out of it still, so I had some trouble getting into everything I was doing. But I have another one tomorrow, so I'll have to get up early again, fuel up with loads of coffee, and get cracking.

The last few days I've been watching a lot of TV-series, relaxed a bunch, walked Atlas and drawn.

Daniel's also had his first full shift at his new job, so we've been having some pretty delicious dinners as well. Both from there and that I made, of course.

So here's a few days in food:

"Fooled pork wrap" with jackfruit, chipotle mayo and spinach!

Smoky hot dogs with hot scharlotte relish and mashed potatoes!

Pitta's filled with hummus, bean and veggie mix and lettuce!

Also, the biggest couch potato ever:

My day in food, etc.

So today was my first day actually working. The training course is over, and it's the real deal now!
Or, it's the real deal with some supervising and all the help we need. We are, after all, handling some very important cases, so we can't afford to mess up too much.
After work, I met Daniel and Atlas outside in the sun. Daniel and I got some tasty vegan hot dogs from Astrid och Aporna down the street, as well deserved treats. A treat for me for finishing my training course, and a treat for Daniel for getting a job interview. At my work place! He applied for a position in the kitchen of our pretty awesome cafeteria (that likes to serve tasty, healthy, green food, and always have something vegan), so fingers crossed!

Speaking of food, here's (part of) my day in food.
Not including the lunch I get at work, the fruit I eat in between meals and the cups of coffee I have to stay awake and aware while at work.

For breakfast I have what I always have: half a grape fruit, a bowl of muesli with almond milk and banana, and some other fruit, in this case a nectarine.

After work I had this treat (that I had to take a bite of before taking a picture, 'cause it's so tasy I couldn't help myself): a vegan smoky hot dog with hot relish consisting of shallots, cabbage, cashew nuts, coriander and chilli.

For dinner we shared two bowls of leftovers: risotto with mushroom, broccoli and spring onions, and vegetable curry with kidney beans.

I do love food!

Malin
