Complicated immigration stuff

Today has been somewhat of a crappy day. We've been trying to figure things out all day, but it is really looking hopeless.

We thought about getting Daniel a place at a school here in Norway, but apparently you need to have finished one year at a university or college before you can start a higher education in Norway, if you are from anywhere outside of Europe. A bit backwards if you ask me.
We've found a school, a great school actually, that will accept students without any university or college experience, but to attend that school Daniel will need to get financial aid.
And you need to have a residency permit to maybe be eligible for financial aid. But to apply for a residency permit you need to already be accepted into a school, and you also need to have all the money you get from financial aid when you apply. Even more backwards!
Complicated stuff, and it's difficult to see a solution right now.
But I know everything will work out, one way or another. And hopefully as soon as possible.

I'm considering just moving, pausing school, try to find a new one and do some work in the meantime. But I'm scared I'll lose my own financial aid if I do that. Bleh.

Does anyone have any suggestion as to what we could do, or what would be at least a temporary solution for us to be together?
If so, please let us know.

Loads of love,
Malin
